Wow!!! MRFC will be fielding additional USTA Travel Leagues for Women this fall! If you are interested please

Women’s Super Senior 7.0 Team….must be turning 60 this year! 3 doubles positions only! Plays the second Thursday of each month..7.0 combined doubles team rating (i.e. 3.5 +3.5, 4.0 + 3.0 or 3.5 + 3.0)! Begins in October!
Women’s 3.5 Weekend Travel League… 3 doubles positions only! Plays Friday PM -Sunday PM…home matches at MRFC will be Sunday 12-2 or 11-1! League runs only Sept – Dec!!
Women’s 4.0 Weekend Travel League….2 doubles positions only! Plays Friday PM – Sunday PM…home matches at MRFC will be Sunday 12-2 or 11-1! League runs only Sept- Dec!!

We have had an excellent response to the initial listing of clinics and have therefore added a few more!!!

The Serve: Kick and Slice: Thursday March 24th 11 AM – 12 PM
The Drop Shot: Monday March 28th 5-6 PM
Fit Tennis: High Intensity 3.5 + Level: Tuesday March 29th 7:30-8:30 PM

Minimum of 4 participants required to run each clinic with a max of 6! Clinic will be cancelled the day prior if 4 participants are not signed up! Tennis Mbrs: $13 Fitness Mbrs: $15 Public: $18

Women’s 50+ Travel Teams are organizing!

MRFC is hoping to once again field both a Women’s 3.0 and a 3.5 Level Travel Teams for anyone over 50! Matches will consist of 3 Doubles positions and will be played on Tuesday daytimes beginning in May and running through Mid-July! Let us know if you are interested or need further information!

Special Adult Doubles Strategy Clinic!

On Saturday, February 19th from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, Fred and Whitey will be instructing a specialized doubles clinic. Men and Women of all levels are welcome so it’s time to start thinking about those next improvements in your game! MRFC’s Junior Tennis Camps for Summer 2010!

Once Again MRFC will offer Junior Tennis Camps for Children age 6-18!

The 2010 Whitey Joslin Junior Tennis Camp for ages 10-18 will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from11 AM to 3:30 PM and will offer two sessions: July 12, 14, 16 and August 2, 4, 6. Daily, Weekly and Two Week Rates are available! Each Week will include Tennis specific fitness training, instruction, games and match play!

For the second year, MRFC will offer a Junior QuickStart Tennis Camp for ages 6-9 which will run on Tuesday and Thursdays from 11 AM – 2 PM and will offer three sessions: July 6,8, July 13, 15 and August 3,5. Again Daily, Weekly, Two and Three Week rates are available. This camp will use the USPTA’s 36′ and 60′ tennis courts and was a great success last year!

Contact MRFC for specific rates, if you wish to have camp information mailed to you or to sign-up for camps. Spaces are limited so sign-up early!

Summer Travel Leagues organizing now!

The Upper Valley CTA Men’s and Women’s Travel Teams are in the process of organizing now with final team commitments due by April 24th! The past few years Mountainside has fielded both a Men’s and a Women’s A Team and we are looking to find out in we can also field B Teams this summer!? A Level (4.5-3.5+) B Level (2.5-3.5-) Matches consist of 3 doubles matches and are played North of Mountainside at Eastman, Hanover, White River Jct, Quechee, Woodstock and Norwich (and a few others!)….Matches are played outdoors on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings…Contact Laura or Richard at 526-9293 is you are interested!

On Saturday Jan 23rd and 30th, MRFC will close one tennis court to allow for more energy efficient ballasts and bulbs to be installed! Note that a lift and workmen will be on the courts throughout the day and based on how quickly work moves on each court, we may need to move you from one court to another. We apologize in advance for any disruption this may cause but we’re sure you’ll love the lights once they are completed! Thanks for your patience!

Turkey Trot Tennis Social and Pot Luck!
