Zumba will return to Mountainside on Tuesday and Thursday 9:30-10:30 AM with Shannon Obey, certified Zumba Instructor! Classes will resume beginning Tuesday Sept 28th! Come back and swing those hips to the great music with good friends and make some new ones!

MRFC’s Body Pump float took 1st place in this past weekend’s Hospital Day Parade in New London! The theme for this year’s parade was Fitness is Fun and the MRFC team of float participants showed how true that is! Thanks to Lisa Hurley, Jeffie Goodwin, Ashley Grace, Steve Norris, Peter Bradley, Heather Grace and Kate Kozain for all their hard work and energy! Thanks also to the Hurley for the use of the flatbed, the Goodwin’s for the use of the truck and to Richard King for driving and to Bri Maguire, Courtney Goodwin and Kyle Goodwin for throwing tootsie rolls!

Ladies….Are you interested in playing in the NH Women’s Indoor Travel Tennis Leagues this indoor season? We are starting to organize different levels of teams right now! Women’s Team tennis is a fun and exiciting way to meet new players, improve your game and compete!
Matches are played on every other Tuesdays during the day beginning in mid September and running through April. Home Matches cost $15 and Away Matches are free. Practices are held and cost $11. You would need to commit to some travel and you must become a USTA member. Matches consist of 1 singles and 3 doubles positions per match with a two hour playing time. You do NOT need to commit to every match as each field consists of 10-11 players and only 7 play each match!
In the past MRFC has fielded 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 level teams. If you are unsure of your rating, don’t hesitate to ask Fred, Whitey or Richard. Please contact Laura Joslin-King at 526-9293 or at mountainside@tds.net if you want to play team or if you have any questions!

Come on in and pump this Saturday at 9:30 AM with new music and new routines! Body Pump #74 starts this 4th of July weekend and it’s tough! Mountainside would also like to welcome Ashley Grace to our fantastic stupendous energetic Body Pump Team of instructors!
MRFC’s 8.0 Mixed Doubles Team just returned from Beverly MA where they competed in the New England Sectionals! The team consisting of Richard King, Jeffie Goodwin, Richard Atherley, Kris Lidbeck, Heidi Leighton, Glenn McKune, Karen Padgett, Whitey Joslin and Kathy Hasu took to the courts Friday and Saturday in a 4 team Round Robin against teams from RI, Eastern MA & ME. They won this preliminary round and went into the Quarterfinals playing a tough team from RI and pulled out a 2-1 win to go onto the Semi-Finals on Sunday morning! In the Semi’s they played another tough deep team from CT and couldn’t quite pull out the match losing two 10 point tiebreakers in two matches! However the same CT team then proceeded to win the New Englands! We’re so proud of all of you! One of the top 8.0 Mixed Teams in New England!!!!
Registeration is continuing for all Summer 2010 New London Outing Club Tennis Programs! Check out the Jr QuickStart Tennis Classes for ages 5+ or perhaps a Men’s or Women’s Doubles League…The entire schedule can be viewed and you can register on-line at www.theoutingclub.net.
Beginning the week of June 21st, Dance Aerobics will be held only on Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8-9 AM. The Tuesday AM class has been cancelled.
