The NLOC Summer 2010 Schedule of Tennis Classes and Leagues are at MRFC now and will be on-line soon!  Junior Classes, Adult Clinics and Drills and Men’s and Women’s Leagues will all be offered!  New this year:  You can also sign up for any NLOC tennis program at MRFC as well as on-line at www.theoutingclub.net!  Payment for any NLOC program is due at the time you register and MRFC can accept only cash/checks though you can register and pay vis CC on-line!   We look forward to a fantastic summer of tennis!

Congratulation to MRFC’s 3.0 Women’s Team for taking 2nd place in their Division and earning a spot in the Districts to be held the 1st weekend in August in NH and/or RI!   Team Members include:  Captain Dot Diehl, Co-Captain Sue Joslin, Stephanie Wheeler, Kathleen Cook, Sarah O’Connor, Barbara Cooper, Linda Tanner, Bettie Howard, Stephanie Lesko, Candace Quackenbos and Sharon Palmer!  This is the second consecutive year this team has qualified to go to Districts!   GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations also to MRFC’s 8.0 Mixed Team, who just this past weekend qualified to go the New England Sectionals with a second place win in their division!  Captain Richard King, Co-Captain Jeffie Goodwin, Richard Atherley, Kris Lidbeck, Heidi Leighton, Whitey Joslin, Glenn McKune, Karen Padgett, Kathy Hasu and Ben Taylor will be heading down to MA the last weekend in June to play for the right to go to Nationals representing New England!  GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations to Whitey Joslin, Glenn McKune, Tom Diehl, Nick Ourusoff, Tom Viccaro, Warren Steele and Bruce Leibig!  Members of the New England Champion Men’s Super Senior Team who tripped out to Surprise Arizona for the Nationals!   It was beautiful weather for tennis and the NE Team went undefeated in their division of 4 teams to go to the semifinals where they lost 2-1,  with both losses in 10 pt 3rd set tiebreakers!   They then won the 3/4 position playoff match to come out with a #3 National Win!  Great Job!

Once Again MRFC will offer Junior Tennis Camps for Children age 6-18! 

The 2010 Whitey Joslin Junior Tennis Camp for ages 10-18 will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from11 AM to 3:30 PM and will offer two sessions:  July 12, 14, 16 and August 2, 4, 6.   Daily, Weekly and Two Week Rates are available!  Each Week will include Tennis specific fitness training, instruction, games and match play!

For the second year, MRFC will offer a Junior QuickStart Tennis Camp for ages 6-9 which will run on Tuesday and Thursdays from 11 AM – 2 PM and will offer three sessions:  July 6,8,  July 13, 15 and August 3,5.  Again Daily, Weekly, Two and Three Week rates are available.  This camp will use the USPTA’s 36′ and 60′ tennis courts and was a great success last year!

Contact MRFC for specific rates, if you wish to have camp information mailed to you or to sign-up for camps.  Spaces are limited so sign-up early!

The Upper Valley CTA Men’s and Women’s Travel Teams are in the process of organizing now with final team commitments due by April 24th!   The past few years Mountainside has fielded both a Men’s and a Women’s A Team and we are looking to find out in we can also field B Teams this summer!?   A Level (4.5-3.5+)  B Level (2.5-3.5-)  Matches consist of 3 doubles matches and are played North of Mountainside at Eastman, Hanover, White River Jct, Quechee, Woodstock and Norwich (and a few others!)….Matches are played outdoors on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings…Contact Laura or Richard at 526-9293 is you are interested!
